Use CSV import on the campaign’s Audience tab. Doreach reads the file and shows what it found before anything is saved. A row can identify a person by any mix of LinkedIn profile, email address, phone number and Instagram handle.
Prepare the file
The CSV needs a header row and at least one contact row. Each row needs at least one of these identity columns:

Headers are not case sensitive, and spaces count as underscores. A row with only one identity can still join the campaign. Steps on a channel the row has no identity for are skipped for that person.
Doreach also fills contact fields from columns such as name, first_name, last_name, job_title, headline, company, industry, city, country, location, website and tags. Name, headline and location feed the merge tags of the same name. See personalization and variables for the merge tags Doreach supports.
A column whose header matches the label of one of your custom fields fills that field. Create custom fields under Settings, Contact fields. Doreach ignores any other column. There is no column-mapping screen.
Import the CSV
- Open Campaigns and create a campaign, or open a draft.
- On the Audience tab, choose CSV import.
- Select Choose a file and pick the CSV.
- Review What we found in it. Doreach shows how many rows have each identity, which columns fill which fields, and which columns it ignored.
- Choose whether to Overwrite existing values. When it is off, the file only fills empty fields on contacts you already have. When it is on, the file replaces what those contacts already have.
- Select the import button to add the contacts. It shows the count, for example Import 25 contacts.
Before you import, Doreach shows how many rows are new contacts, how many are already in your contacts, and how many it will skip because they are archived or unsubscribed. It also shows how many field values it will fill, keep, overwrite, or reject as not valid.
Importing a file replaces the campaign’s current audience. If the campaign already has contacts, the dialog warns you, for example This replaces the 40 contacts you have now.
Doreach skips rows that have no usable identity. The import fails if no valid contact rows remain.
Who Doreach leaves out
When you import, Doreach leaves these people out of the campaign:
- rows that repeat a person already in the same file
- people from an earlier campaign, unless Allow contacts who were in earlier campaigns is on
- anyone a campaign is messaging right now, even when that switch is on
- anyone unsubscribed or suppressed
- anyone archived in your contacts
- email addresses that bounced before
Turn on Allow contacts who were in earlier campaigns on the campaign’s Schedule tab. If everyone in the file was in an earlier campaign, Doreach does not import it and points you to that switch. People whose connection request was withdrawn can always join a new campaign.
Check the file before you import
Confirm that each LinkedIn profile, email address and phone number belongs to the intended person. Fix missing or wrong values in the CSV, then choose another file. Doreach does not enrich the file or find missing emails.
