Every connected account shows a connection status and a risk level. Check both weekly, and know what each one does not cover.

## Statuses

| Status | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| **Active** | Connected and running | None |
| **Needs attention** | LinkedIn wants re-authentication | Resolve on LinkedIn, then reconnect |
| **Limited** | A weekly allowance or a LinkedIn limit was hit | Wait for the window to reset |
| **Paused** | Stopped by you or automatically | Investigate before resuming |
| **Disconnected** | Credentials invalid | [Reconnect](/help/accounts-and-safety/reconnect-a-disconnected-account/) |

## What the risk level actually reflects

Each account carries a risk level, and it is worth being precise about what it does and does not tell you. It is derived from the account's **connection status**, not from campaign performance:

| Status | Risk level |
|---|---|
| Needs re-authentication | High |
| Paused | Medium |
| Anything else | Low |

So a **low** risk level means LinkedIn has not asked us to re-authenticate. It does **not** mean your targeting is healthy. Doreach cannot see whether your acceptance rate is collapsing and will not warn you about it. That judgement is yours, from the campaign analytics.

## The warning signs that matter

In the order they usually appear:

1. **Acceptance rate falling below 20%.** The earliest and most reliable signal, and the one you can act on before anything breaks.
2. **Unexpected verification prompts** when logging in normally.
3. **A growing pile of pending invitations.** Withdraw ones older than about three weeks; they drag the ratio down.
4. **Messages not delivering** or search results thinning out.

## What to do at the first sign

Reduce daily limits by half. Pause the worst-performing campaign, usually the one with the loosest audience. Withdraw stale invitations. Leave it a week before touching volume again.

Almost every permanent closure is preceded by warnings that were visible and ignored. The first restriction is a signal to change the approach, not to change tools.

## Common questions

### What does the Needs attention status mean on a connected account?

LinkedIn has asked for re-authentication or verification, often a security checkpoint, a password change, or a new-device prompt. Activity is paused until you complete it on LinkedIn directly and reconnect.

### How can I tell if a LinkedIn account is at risk before it gets restricted?

Watch your campaign acceptance rate first. A sustained drop below 20% is the earliest reliable warning, and it is a number you have to watch yourself because the account risk level does not reflect it. Unexpected verification prompts are the next signal.
